Ghost mania broke out. Fans came out of the woodwork to support Mystery Skulls, MysteryBen and his team of supporting animators, and a great many plans were made to build something of a series out of the characters people had fallen in love with.
However, good animation takes time. Even with a team, the next installment of the new Mystery Skulls Saga wasn't released until April of 2016 as Mystery Skulls Animated - Freaking Out.
The sequel satisfied fans (who were more shocked that the series had reappeared after such a long hiatus) and expanded on the "lore" of the universe appropriately. With a little more than 10 minutes of animation to work from, the fan theories, art, and speculation ran wild.
Then, it was time to wait again. Until October 13th, 2018.
Finally, part three had arrived! The animation was improved, the art was updated slightly, the lore was packed in, and now we were set up for some showdown. The fans are once again all excited for what this could all mean, but it seems we'll have plenty of time to think on it. At the rate we're going, part 4 should be out sometime in 2021.
