The first successful nuclear reactor ever built was fired up at the university of Chicago, and then moved to a site outside of town in the Argonne forest, a public park then and now. After World War Two, the reactors were closed down, filled with concrete, and buried in a massive hole, where they remain today. The Chicago Aussie has a tale for you- enjoy!
