While many people consider "fun sized" candy to be a relatively modern invention, it was actually pioneered in 1952 by the Curtiss Candy Company, the original manufacturer of Baby Ruth and Butterfinger candy bars in Chicago.



The products sold well for a few years (according to the sources I found) but were withdrawn by 1958. Surprisingly, following numerous buyouts, the Nestle Corporation would renew interest in the Butterfinger Chips, re-branded as "Snackerz" in 1992 which would be sold until finally being pulled in 1995.



Amazing to see what comes back around.
