Another big thread where I thought I'd dump all the various pictures
I've accumulated looking at abandoned swimming pools and other water
fixtures. There is something downright bizarre about the sight of an
empty swimming pool in a long-abandoned place- in the event I'm not the
only one who finds them fascinating, here are a few...

A pool filled in and turned into a grassy field of sorts, more or less to keep people from falling into it.
Clever and cost effective safety, probably cheaper than tearing the whole facility down.

I ran across another photo of the South Korean "Alps" ski resort's crazy pool. Seems that red thing is actually some sort of permanent structure "in" the pool. Very strange.

The famous Abandoned Swimming Pool at the University of Rochester in Rochester, New York. It was filled with discarded chairs, tables, and fixtures that make for terrific pictures like this one.
