A battered wooden vessel was discovered adrift just off of Japan's western shore, and authorities found that it contained 8 skeletal bodies. Due to the time the boat has been adrift, determining who the people were, and what their intentions were is hard to say. However, judging from past "Ghost Ships" that turn up off the Japanese coast, it would stand to reason it was a boat loaded with defectors from North Korea who perished on their voyage.

The story is HERE.

Things must be intolerable in North Korea if their people are this desperate to escape.

I ran across an interesting "Business Insider" story about the phenomenon, which is apparently growing in scale. Evidently they might not be defectors, but rather people who are desperate to get food for their starving country. Check it out HERE.

The story doesn't say, so I don't think so. The skeletal bodies refer to the "original" ghost ship from 2017.
