Look out, British Children's show "Peppa Pig" is off corrupting the values of Chinese children again. Wait, what?
In what is, sadly, not an Onion story, the Chinese Government has officially censored Peppa Pig, a youth TV show about an animated family of pigs learning about things like friendship, music, nature, and so on. This isn't Beijing's first, nor is it expected to be their last bizarre ban on children's shows. Recently, President Xi Jinping's government moved to censor Winnie the Pooh Bear, the famous British book character and lucrative Disney property, simply because some of Xi's critics had compared him to the bear in a critical light.
