Panzer 35(t), the Czech Starter from Maklarr4000's blog

The Czech people built some truly revolutionary vehicles prior to World War Two- and it is a shame that they all essentially were passed into the hands of the Nazis without so much as a shot fired. In the World of Tanks universe, one of the First Czech tanks to encounter (after the Tier 1 Kolohousenka) is the Panzerkampfwagen 35(t), or LT vz. 35. The vehicle is available in both the Czech tech tree, and in the "Czech" section of the German tech tree.

The Panzer 35(t) is a fine machine at tier 2, with a number of options, and a variety of weapons. Coupling decent armor for it's tier with solid handling and an acceptable top speed, it's generally seen as a fine combatant. It's weapons perform best while stationary, so this is a great tank to find a bush or a corner and wait for an ambush. At tier 2 it sees mostly Mines and Himmelsdorf, so setting this thing up where it can lay down the fire without getting too much of it's hull exposed isn't too hard.

I really love the little Czech 35, and it really is a shame it doesn't lead to anything particularly rewarding. It is a well-known fact that the in-game matchmaking of WOT does not like the 38(t)/LT vz. 38 very much, and as such a lot of people dread the grind in what should otherwise be enjoyable tanks. Then, after all that, the German line gives you the Panzer 38 nA, an exceptional scouting unit, while the Czech tree sticks you with the ST vz 39, one of the worst medium tanks in the entire game. It's rather sad to think that such a good, solid, and reliable foundation of the Panzer 35(t) is largely wasted, but it still doesn't detract from it's overall "fun to play" characteristics. Give it a spin if you haven't, though that's about as good as it's going to get for a while...

Do I have to rate it? Sure. Okay. 9/10. There we go.
