In a war, mobility is vital to winning the fight. Protecting your supply lines is crucial- so in World War Two, both the allies and axis powers created armored trains to protect their rail lines and their cargo from attack.

Flash forward to the Croatian War of Independence in 1991, and the Krajina Serb army decided to build their own armored train. It was called the Krajina Express.

The train itself went through a variety of configurations between 1991 and 1995, featuring rocket launchers, machine guns, the turret and armament from an M-10 Tank Destroyer, and more in defense of it's crew and cargo. The train was involved in the 1994 Siege of Bihać, one of the larger battles of the conflict.

The train was damaged many times during the war, and was in poor shape in 1995 when the Krajina Republic began to falter. To prevent the train from being used against them, the Krajina forces destroyed the train by derailing it into a ravine.

A few components remain today, deteriorated as they are, and are open to the public.

Sure thing Fitch! Glad this site can do some (albeit limited) good for people beyond just letting us vent about the state of WOT.
