In a nightmare scenario for food manufacturer Ruiz Foods, customers have complained of finding small rocks in their El Monterey frozen breakfast burritos. Rocks are not metal detectable, and if they're very small would not be seen by even a very robust X-Ray inspection system as virtually all US based food manufacturers now employ. An estimated 246,000 pounds of food is now subject to a full national recall, and I can only imagine how many people over at Ruiz Foods are now seeking new forms of employment.
