During the Falklands War of 1982, Britain went to war with Argentina after Argentina tried to take over some of Britain's islands in the south Atlantic ocean. In order to get them back, the British launched attacks across the ocean with their aging but still powerful Vulcan V2 bombers. Teamed up in secret, the United States sold Britain some experimental weapons to try out on Argentina's air forces. All was well and good, until one of the bombers wound up in Brazil.
