Well, the cat is out of the bag. The new Sabaton-branded STRV-81 medium tank is going live on the 17th of August. As with all the other "national" premium tanks, this one is focusing more on the aesthetics than any sort of historical accuracy, which is a good move in my opinion. Check it out.

The tank is set to have the band itself filling in as the crew of the tank, complete with Brothers in Arms as a zero-skill, as is the new norm with Wargaming's "special" tanks.

Sabaton, the band in question, also made a music video focused around the new vehicle.

The only "X" factor left is the price, which I'd expect to be in the $50-$70 range. We'll see I suppose...

The tank does not go live in the US for a few more hours, but the promo for it is up on YouTube for the morning crowd on the East Coast, and those of us who don't sleep much.

However, it is available on the European Union site right now. As I was logged in, it automatically displayed the currency in US Dollars.

Gotta say, they've hyped this one well.

The tank is a little less than $50 for the "stock" version which comes with just the tank and the crew.

Both of which appear to be a lot of fun. The tank itself may not be spectacular, but you can't say Wargaming didn't have fun making this tank.

Oh, to top it off, the Primo Victoria has a specialized commander voice to match the band's front man Joakim.

...while also implying that either he himself is immune to getting knocked out in battle thanks to his vest, or more interestingly if this means the "vest" emblem on the nose of the Primo Victoria is actually invincible. I haven't had a chance to blast one in the nose yet, but when I have I will report back here.

Okay, I have one of these things now, and I can verify the following:

The nose will deflect shells if they hit the "armor" plates on it, akin to when you shoot at stuff like tracks and other cosmetic stuff on other tanks. As they're spaced out, and pretty small, it's not going to do much in the long run, which is a good thing- that would make this tank very OP if it wasn't able to be fought from the front.

I can confirm that Joakim, the Sabaton front-man commander, is totally and utterly invincible. In all my fights he's never been knocked out, though I've lost pretty much everyone else at least once in these tier 10 games. For the commander voice-over work he did for WOT, he reads off the British commander voice prompts, and sounds pretty disinterested to be honest. There are a few times, namely when you don't pen a shell, that it seems he was allowed to improvise, but otherwise it's nothing to get too excited about. He's not speaking in that crazy deep "heavy metal" voice either, it seems like he's truly just reading it off the page.

All the same, I rather like the Primo Victoria. It's speedy, the turret is tough despite it's appearance, and the gun is nice and pointy for knocking holes in things. It's downside is that it's body is very soft, it's as big as a boat, and it's matchmaking will put you at a steep disadvantage from time to time. All that said, it's a barrel of fun and it rakes in credits like mad, so I'd say the base package was worth it.

You can, just not through the parts with the "armor" on them. They are quite small.

People bitch about the game being historically accurate and then they add this shit and before we know it weve got goddamn pony tanks and shit.
