The cryptic Russian radio station UVB-76 has been a longstanding mystery since it first started broadcasting a strange buzzing sound nonstop back in the 1970's. What it is, and why it is eluded many for decades. However, thanks to the information age and some Russian military folks who were willing to explain it, the mystery that surrounded UVB-76 is over.

For me, I guess I always figured it would be something kinda mundane in the end- the notion that it's just a signal system for readiness and drill commands makes a lot of sense, especially considering the age of most of Russia's defense equipment and the resources they have to maintain all of that. I guess I still hoped the mystery would turn out to be "more" than that, but I guess that'll do it.
