So, stealing an APC and taking it for a spin isn't just something for the former Soviet Bloc anymore! A soldier in Virginia stole the M113 APC (which appears to be a munitions carrier to my eye, though I could be wrong) from a National Guard base and took it for a joyride up the highway and then into the city of Richmond before he ultimately surrendered without a fight. No one was hurt, no property was destroyed, and the vehicle itself was no worse for wear. It's certain the joyrider will see some sort of penalty, but what that is remains to be seen. I think most are just relieved this was just a "joyride" and nothing more serious or dangerous.
