According to Starbucks, their store density is too high in some areas, and about 150 stores are now doomed to close in the next year as a result. Story HERE.
This comes in the wake of Starbucks closing a large number of smaller suburban stores over the last few years, as well as their buyout and subsequent closure of rival tea chain Teavana. Interesting how Starbucks got huge, and then couldn't quite manage under it's own weight.
