Following the World's largest conflict, countries all across the world
from the heart of Europe to the most remote Pacific Islands were now
dotted with military structures and fortifications which no longer
served any purpose. Some were re-purposed, others demolished, while
others were simply left to rot- the cost to remove them far greater than any
